Vitra Fossils Panel

Vitra Fossil is a process of creating a faux plant fossil in glass by using layers of powdered frit with actual leaves and firing it in the kiln.

In this 3 hour class, we will be creating a 5”x10” Vitra Fossil panel, which you can use a beautiful wall display or we can slump it into a dish.

We will discuss which organic material is appropriate, explore glass powder applications, talk about using micas and how to lay up the design to develop ways of creating fossils imagery in our fused glass.  This process can be incorporated into tiles, panels, plates, even jewelry.

This class is open to all fusing levels.  All materials are supplied (except N95 mask, student must bring or purchase at the studio).
